Activities at Meadow Park Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

World Book Day

In recognition of ‘World Book Day’ our wonderful staff have thrown a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ which incorporated our Third Dementia Cafe too.

With Alice, The Mad Hatters and The Queen Of Hearts, staff put on a fabulous display, with all three of our communities coming together to enjoy homemade treats from our fantastic Mandy and Kerry, all washed down with a nice cup of tea

It was lovely to see our families supporting as always, and everyone enjoyed a sing a long

Residents and staff also sang Happy Birthday to Head Chef Mandy.

World Book Day is a national celebration of books and reading, and a perfect excuse for us for a dress up and a bit of a party.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all our Mams, Grandmas, Great Grandmas and Great Great Grandmas, Aunties, Friends, Dog Mams and more.

Our ladies have had a day all about them, being spoilt and pampered, showered with gifts and flowers, and most importantly spending time with their families.

Residents enjoyed a High Tea this afternoon, with conversations flowing about all of their memories of being significant women to many peoples life’s.

Mother's Day is a celebration honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in our society.

Being a Mam is the best job in the world some of our residents said, and others said being a Grandma is even better.

London Ladies

As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.

Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.

Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.

Bingo Bonanza

Across the country our homes and hospitals came together to find out which care home or hospital had the best Bingo players as we teamed up for Barchester’s Bingo Bonanza.

Residents were treated to some exciting virtual games of Bingo as part of Barchester’ very own game show series.

Everyone who participate had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

Dignity Day

The Dignity in care campaign, launched today to coincide with Dignity Action Day, which advocates for compassionate and respectful care

Staff wore red, which represents Dignity, and residents had discussions with our Dignity champion, about what Dignity means to them, and what Dignity is

We made a ‘Dignity Tree with everyone’s faces on, with what their definition of Dignity is, with Respect being popular, as well as being offered choice and being polite to each other

Chef Mandy also cooked up some delicious cupcakes with red icing for everyone to enjoy

Dignity is promoted in Meadow Park and put into practice with everything we do, and today we recognised the importance of it. ‘You’ve either got it, or you haven’t’ Shirley said.
