Activities at Meadow Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Meadow Park Care Home
Musical Memories
Residents were entertained by ‘Musical Memories’ everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along to all the old songs reminiscing about the good old days.
Starlings virtual talk
Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.
Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.
The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
Deck the halls!
Residents have had another jam packed day with all things Christmas. Ruth, Joan and Lillian have helped our handy man tony positioning our special visitor at the homes porch, Santa!
We have reminisced about making decorations as children, weaving paper to make paper chains and covering acorns in glitter, Margaret said they were the best kind of Christmas decorations.
Residents are enjoying the coziness of the home and the run up to the festive period, relaxing of an evening by the twinkling lights with the fire on and a nice cup of hot chocolate.
Wansbeck Christmas campaign
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everybody that donated gifts to the Wansbeck Christmas campaign. Today our gifts have been collected and will be taken to be distributed to those unfortunate and in need.
Here at meadow park we pride ourselves in being caring and helpful towards others, so we knew this was a campaign for us. We are overwhelmed with the support we have received from our staff, families and community, I’m sure we will put some big smiles on children’s faces this Christmas.
Hamper donation
We would like to say a massive thank you to Sidney Armitage for his wonderful annual donation of food for food hampers. These are a huge hit every year in our Christmas raffle!
Virtual trip to the Donkey Sanctuary
Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester. Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care. They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide. The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
