Activities at Meadowbeck Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Tina Holmes
Hi, I’m Tina, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Meadowbeck.
I began working at the home as a Care Assistant in 1999. In 2014, I changed my role to Social Support Worker, which I enjoyed, as it involved supporting residents at Meadowbeck in their daily lifestyles.
I then became the Activities Coordinator in May 2017. I love working with our residents and getting to know them and their families. In addition to supporting them maintain an active lifestyle I always ensure to personally get to know each resident when they move in with us to support them in the continuation of any hobbies or interests the might have.

Life at Meadowbeck Care Home
Out & About
We returned to Burnby Hall Gardens to make the most of the lovely weather. Residents enjoyed admiring the beautiful flowers, and we rounded off the afternoon with some delicious tea and cakes.
International Food Fest
We hosted an International Food Fest evening, which we hold every month, and invited friends from our sister home to join us for the evening. This is a great social evening with great company, and everyone enjoys delicious, homemade refreshments amongst good company.
Nutrition & Hydration Week
Our Head Chef created a fantastic display for Nutrition & Hydration week to showcase the benefits of healthy eating. There were a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious smoothies and milkshakes
Valentine's Day
Residents at Meadowbeck enjoyed a lovely afternoon with their loved ones at our Valentine's Day cream tea afternoon. There was Buck's Fizz and lots of laughter, and our kitchen team pulled out all the stops to help give residents a wonderful Valentine's experience.
Birds of Prey
Everyone at Meadowbeck enjoyed a visit from the Birds of Prey, and loved having their photos taken with them.
Brownies & Rainbows
Residents at Meadowbeck enjoyed a lovely evening with the children from 'Brownies & Rainbows', and love participating in activities with them.
Everyone talked about what kindness means to then, and we rounded off the evening with the children singing and playing musical instruments.
We can't wait to see them again!
