Activities at Meadowbeck Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Tina Holmes
Hi, I’m Tina, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Meadowbeck.
I began working at the home as a Care Assistant in 1999. In 2014, I changed my role to Social Support Worker, which I enjoyed, as it involved supporting residents at Meadowbeck in their daily lifestyles.
I then became the Activities Coordinator in May 2017. I love working with our residents and getting to know them and their families. In addition to supporting them maintain an active lifestyle I always ensure to personally get to know each resident when they move in with us to support them in the continuation of any hobbies or interests the might have.

Life at Meadowbeck Care Home
Christmas Fete
All our residents families and friends had a fun afternoon at our Christmas Fete.
We had many stalls including Christmas crafts, jewellery, a toffee and fudge stall, a tombola and a raffle.
We also had live entertainment from singer and guitarist Pete Alexanda. Pete has been entertaining at Meadowbeck for many years but sadly this was his last performance with us as he’s decided it’s time to enjoy his retirement!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
We hosted a coffee morning at Meadowbeck to help raise funds for Macmillan Coffee Morning. Staff, residents and their families and friends joined us for the morning and showed off their baking skills. Staff also came to work in their pyjamas for the day, much to their delight.
Festive Afternoon Tea
All residents and their families joined us for a festive afternoon tea and enjoyed a glass of fizz or two. Everyone is getting into the festive spirit, and our Regional Director also joined in with the afternoon's festivities.
Making Pizza
Residents enjoy getting busy and creating their own pizzas with their very own favourite tasty toppings.
Getting Creative
Residents showed off their painting skills in our arts and crafts session. They always find these sessions relaxing and therapeutic.
Harvest Festival
We had a lovely afternoon, where everyone got together for our Harvest Festival service. All food donated went to help the local homeless café
