Activities at Meadowbeck Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Tina Holmes
Hi, I’m Tina, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Meadowbeck.
I began working at the home as a Care Assistant in 1999. In 2014, I changed my role to Social Support Worker, which I enjoyed, as it involved supporting residents at Meadowbeck in their daily lifestyles.
I then became the Activities Coordinator in May 2017. I love working with our residents and getting to know them and their families. In addition to supporting them maintain an active lifestyle I always ensure to personally get to know each resident when they move in with us to support them in the continuation of any hobbies or interests the might have.

Life at Meadowbeck Care Home
Live Entertainment
Residents and families enjoyed entertainment by the talented female vocalist, Christie Clifford. Christie has been entertaining us at Meadowbeck for many years and we always look forward to her returning.
Open Day
Residents, family members, friends and staff all enjoyed entertainment from Artifaces' balloon modeling artist. Our Head Chef did an amazing job of preparing food for the event.
Burns Night
We celebrated Burns Night with a friend from the local community; she read us some Robert Burns poetry and told us all about the man's life. We then enjoyed a Burns supper with haggis and tatties, not forgetting a wee dram of whsikey.
National Pizza Day
People made their favourite pizzas by choosing some tasty toppings.
A Double Celebration
Congratulations to Memory Lane Carer, Tracey Craig, who recently celebrated 10 years at Barchester; and to Head Housekeeper, Tracey Addy, who has been here a staggering 20 years. Well done to both!
Christmas Show
The Traveling Theatre Company joined us to put on a Christmas show. There were lots of jokes and songs and plenty of Christmas stories from the past.
