Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Moors Manor Care Home
Remembrance Day
Our residents enjoyed a visit from the local school who lead us in a prayer and read us some poems. We also welcomed the mayor and the Royal British Legion along. The children laid some poppies to add to our poppy display from local businesses and the community as well as our own poppies made by our residents.
Fireworks
We enjoyed our first firework party at the home, relatives come along to join their loved ones to watch the display followed by hot dogs, jacket potato with chilli and a beautiful rainbow cake.
Poppy Crafting
A group of our lovely ladies spent the afternoon crafting some lovely poppies to go on our remembrance display.
Pumpkin Carving
Our residents enjoyed a pumpkin carving session with Sam, everyone helped out with getting their hands in to hollow them out and instructed Sam on what style face they wanted.
Trip to the Farm
We enjoyed a lovely minibus trip to Hockey's Farm to see the animals, the donkeys were favourite. As with most of our trips this was finished off with some lovely cake and coffee in the Café
Meet the Owls
We had a wonderful afternoon with a visit from Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre who came along to our home with a variety of owls and falcons.
☀️The weather was beautiful so we all enjoyed sitting in the garden to see and learn about these stunning birds.
