Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Newton House Care Home
Looking Back
With the current climate and how difficult it is for us to see our families, we have been doing lots of video calls, but we also like to go through our residents' photo albums to remain connected to our families at this difficult time.
Remembrance Day Preparations
We are preparing for our Remembrance Day celebrations and thought we would brighten up our entrance hall for members of the community passing by. We will be having a 2 minutes silence at 11am and reminiscing with all residents about their time in service.
Halloween at Newton
We adorned our walls with Halloween decorations, which residents were fascinated by. Our Head Chef made us delicious cakes, and we followed this with a singalong and a dance to the Ghostbusters theme song.
Birthday Celebrations
We have celebrated a very special 90th birthday for Mr G. He was serenaded by staff and residents alike, and another resident played the piano to the tune of 'Happy Birthday'.
Bendominoes
Bendominoes is a fun way of playing dominoes, and is a fantastic way of aiding concentration, orientation and number sequencing.
Arts & Crafts
Arts and crafts are a great way to develop creativity whilst improving dexterity and coordination. They are not only great for reducing the stress of boredom, but a fun, relaxing and enjoyable activity too.
