Activities at North Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at North Park Care Home

The King is in the building!

The 'King' is in the building!

Residents were overjoyed when they welcomed the 'King' into the building to perform a medley of his famous hits. There was lots of singing and dancing as residents remembered Elvis, the performance left the ladies swooning and giggling as he presented them with flowers. It was a fun-filled afternoon for all and everyone is looking forward to the homes next live performance.

Virtual event with Dr Tim Howard

Residents across our homes had a lovely time joining Dr Tim Howard, 4th generation GP, whose whole life has been about patient care, for an exciting virtual event to discuss his novel ‘Let’s Kill All The Lawyers’.

The novel is a medical fiction thriller that explores the impact of life and death events, mistakes and forgiveness, and the impact of law and justice on the day- to-day lives of ordinary people doing their best in difficult circumstances.

Residents had the chance to ask their own questions once the discussion was over and a great time was had by all.

Wishes Granted!

At North Park when a resident makes a wish to try our very hardest to make it come true. One of our lovely residents wished to go to Redcar for fish and chips and a lemon top, another wished she could go for a paddle in the sea. We were only too happy to grant their wishes and set off in the mini bus. Both residents thoroughly enjoyed their special day and are now plotting how to do it again!

Just passing through

Residents across our services had a lovely time joining Daniel Snowman, for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘Just Passing Through’.

Author of over a dozen books, Daniel Snowman’s long and active life has led him to interact in countless ways with the wider world and with some of its most famous inhabitants. His memoir evokes these experiences via a series of vivid literary vignettes.

Residents across the homes found the talk very intriguing and informative, and were happy to learn more about Daniel’s experiences around the world.  Book club corner is part of our varied life enrichment programme.  A great time was had by all.

Come sing!

We had a fantastic time with vocal coach Mark De-Lisser as he led an amazing virtual singing session for our residents to enjoy.

Our residents were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I’m a Believer’ by The Monkees.

There were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.

Postcards of Kindness

Residents regularly enjoy receiving and sending out postcards through their Postcards of Kindness group. We have received cards and letters from far and wide including one as far away as Perth in Australia. As well as postcards and letters we have had pictures from schools, scout groups and football teams
