Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Busy Days in the Garden

Busy Days in the Garden

With the recent sunny weather, folks at Oak Grange have been enjoying spending time in the garden.

Fundraising Week

Fundraising Week

Our fundraising week got off to a great start!

We are fundraising for Barchester's Charitable Foundation and Vision for China, which was chosen by residents after a presentation evening in May.

We held a coffee morning and watched a live stream from a zoo in china, where you could see Pandas relaxing.

We also held a  'guess the amount of jelly beans in the jar' competition and we are having a bake sale.

Lots of residents, families and friends joined us today - many thanks for your support!

Dementia Training Session

Dementia Training Session

We held a dementia training session on Saturday 10th June, which was well-attended by friends, families and volunteers of Oak Grange. It was a really inspiring afternoon, led by Beckie Morley from Musical Moments. After just one hour, we really felt that we had gained an insight into living well with dementia. This has inspired us to become Dementia Friends Champions. A big thank you to everyone for coming.

VE Day Street Party

As you can see, we had some very special visitors join us for lunch and give a speech to mark the 72nd anniversary of VE Day. We also had a free raffle, with the results being drawn by Winston Churchill himself.

Easter Concert

Easter Concert

The Easter concert was performed by the Oak Grange choir, which is made up of residents, staff, loved ones and friends. We invited professional musical director, Susan Ushitz, to help us perform a selection of hymns, show tunes, and favourite songs; it was a lovely way to celebrate Easter together.

Easter at Oak Grange

Our minister, Mark, delivered a lovely church service to us, and provided music to accompany our choir.

Chris & Joan provided an assortment of musical entertainment, which really made our hot cross bun afternoon on Good Friday.

The Easter Bunny stopped by on Easter Sunday with a delivery of delicious eggs for everyone to indulge in.

We also found time to celebrate Her Majesty's birthday with a coffee morning in the bistro, a quiz and a birthday cake.
