Activities at Oaklands Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Oaklands Care Home
Honey Visits Oaklands
Staff and residents were thrilled to meet Honey the Shetland pony when she visited Oaklands.
Honey visited residents in the lounges and their individual rooms. She was totally at ease, and even used the lift to access the first floor rooms!
Honey surely brought the Christmas spirit to Hilton Park and we would like to say a big thank you to Amanda, her owner, for bringing her to visit us, and hope for a return visit in the summer.
Eyes Down
Students from the local village college came to help our activities team host a bingo session recently. Both residents and students enjoyed interacting with one another and had a really fun morning
Oaklands Christmas Fair
Residents, families, friends, staff and members of the local community enjoyed looking at the various stalls at our annual Christmas Fair, and trying their luck on the Tombola stalls and Grand Raffle. Everyone commented on what was a very successful afternoon.
Christmas Choir
Hilton Park and Oaklands enjoyed Christmas Hymns sung by a local choir. This event really got us into the Christmas spirit.
Finishing off our Christmas Cake
After preparing the base for our Christmas Cakes, we then had to ice and decorate them. Here is one of the residents adding a final layer before icing the cake.
Christmas Cake Making
One of the exciting traditions of Christmas is making the Christmas cake. The gentlemen at Oaklands really enjoyed this activity. They are looking forward to decorating their cakes nearer to Christmas.
