Activities at Ochil Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Caring About Physical Activity
Care About Physical Activity (CAPA) is an improvement programme led by the Care Inspectorate to help older people in care to be more mobile. It's about the little things, like encouraging them to post their own letters or walk up the stairs instead of using the lift. It’s about staff, people who need support and their friends and families working together to improve health, well-being and mobility. It’s about making things easier so that people can do things for themselves.
Activities Coordinator, Louise Patton, has worked very hard to assist residents here at Ochil with improving their mobility. We have strength and balance exercises, static cycling, armchair exercises and much more. This hard work has resulted in positive outcomes for residents and has been recognised by CAPA.
Over 120 care services took part in the 18 month project, which came to an end in October 2018. Over 80 care services made applications for 5 CAPA awards, with Ochil winning the 'Opportunity to Move More' group category.
Dog Show
The annual dog show took place at Ochil on Thursday 25th October 2018. The event was well-supported and enjoyed by residents and relatives alike. A raffle was held, which raised £160 for the Perthshire Abandoned Dog Society.
