Activities at Orchard House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
Busy Bees Garden Centre
As part of our festive preparations we took our residents to our local Busy Bees Garden Centre to enjoy the Christmas lights show and to join in the fun and view all the decorations, lights and glitzy glamour.
Remembrance Day
On Remembrance day, residents wanted to write messages to loved ones to show we will never forget them. We got together with a hot cuppa whilst residents shared memories and wrote messages on poppy’s. Residents then put them on our memory tree. Everyone explained it was a lovely way to never forget them and it gave them a chance to express that they are forever in our hearts.
Rock Art
We had a fun afternoon painting rocks! As the residents enjoy painting so much we thought we would change it up by painting rocks. Which the residents enjoyed very much, for some individual’s they had never done it before.
It does not matter what age you are, we will find something new and different you may have not done before.
Guinea Pigs Visit
We had very friendly guinea pigs who visited us all at the home. They were all very relaxed and enjoyed having a cuddle with the residents. Everyone had a lovely time.
Garden Party
Orchard House hosted a garden party! The sun was shining, and we had live entertainment, games, delicious refreshments and a raffle. It was a great day!
Trip to Monkey and Owl Haven
We had a few lovely trips to Monkey & Owl Haven, where we spent most of the day enjoying the animals that they had there. We also enjoyed a delicious meal for lunch whilst watching the monkeys, which was very fun. Residents had an entertaining day, which ended up with a couple of ice creams for dessert.
