Activities at Orchard House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home
Balloon Fun
Residents and staff members had a fun morning at the home. Everyone was engaged in a balloon fun game, which aimed to keep the residents fit and active. There were laughter and smiles all around the home. Residents really enjoyed the activity and are looking forward to doing this again soon.
Godshill Primary School
Residents at Orchard House met the students of Godshill primary school. Together they played games and had lots of fun while socialising. It was a very positive experience for everyone and residents are really looking forward to seeing the children again in September.
The Jolly Residents' Outing
Residents enjoyed taking a trip to Shanklin seafront, as it was such a lovely day. We stopped at the café and had an ice cream whilst reminiscing about past memories of going to the beach. We took a long walk across the seafront, taking in the view.
Little Visitors
We teamed up with Summerfields Primary School, who are doing a 10 week project. 10 children, aged 4 to 5, are spending time with residents doing different activities each week.
During our first session, everyone introduced themselves and there was lots of laughter and socialising. We are already seeing improvements in individuals' well-being.
Easter Spirit
Residents enjoyed getting into the Easter spirit by making Easter bonnet hats. There was lots of laughter and stories shared during the session. Some residents wanted them in their rooms and others wanted them at the front café area show off. Residents also enjoyed listening to music in the background and had a singalong to some of their favourite songs. At the end of the session, residents had a cuppa and a slice of cake whilst admiring their amazing work.
Museum Madness
Carisbrooke Castle Museum came to the home with their kitchen items to show residents, who enjoyed sharing memories and reminiscing about their childhood and younger days.
