Activities at Overslade House Care Home
Our activities team is dedicated to organising a variety of events and activities and adapting them to suit the capabilities of those we support. Our goal is to improve quality of life by providing activities that are tailored to residents' own interests.
At Overslade House, we encourage local people and businesses to participate, as well as our staff and relatives, in order to keep them involved as part of a wider community. We strive to enhance the quality of both mental and physical stimulation through weekly minibus excursions, PAT dogs, quizzes, Zumba classes, arm chair line dancing, musical entertainers, pamper sessions and much more.
We definitely have something for everyone!
Julie Bateman
Hi, my name is Julie, and I'm the lead Activities Lead here at Overslade House. I've been an entertainer for over 25 years which has given me a great foundation for meeting people from various backgrounds, and has also helped nurture my social skills.
I love animals, and have two Dachshunds of my own who, like me, love meeting new people. I'm looking forward to bringing them in to meeting all our lovely residents here at Overslade.
I'm a bit of a social butterfly and enjoy visiting National Trust locations, attending the Theatre, singing and dining out. Over the years I've even been an 'extra' on TV!
Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. We are always open to new ideas, if you'd like to contact me please call the home on 01788 522577 or email me direct on overslade.activities@barchester.com - New entertainers always welcome.

Life at Overslade House Care Home
Lunch at 'Overslade Bistro'
Due to unforeseen circumstances our day trip ‘out to lunch’ needed to be postponed today 11th March however, the resourceful team at Overslade House decided to change the location to our beautiful coffee shop café.
Chef rustled up a superb menu consisting of mushroom soup to start, followed by roast Lamb and all the trimmings, with jam and coconut sponge and custard for dessert.
Our resident lunch club had such a good time in the newly name 'Overslade Bistro' they’ve requested the booking becomes a regular event!
The Animal Man
On the 3rd March our residents really enjoyed afternoon visit from 'John the animal man' with his variety of animals, such as turtles, snakes, spiders and bearded dragon! What an amazing day, we can't wait till he returns.
Pancake Flippin' Fun
What a wonderful Pancake Day at Overslade House. Home-cooked pancakes with a selection of delicious toppings were on the menu throughout the day and served around the home. Chef also provided the 'willing to cook' residents with the ingredients needed to make and flip their own!
Pat Dog Therapy
Our residents had a visit from John and his pat dog 'Radley' she was loved by all our guests and they are looking forward to her next visit.
Love is all around at Overslade House
The residents and guests visiting Overslade House we greeted with a single red rose for the lady’s and heart shaped chocolates for all gentleman, handed out by our wonderful volunteers from Rugby College; Molly & Lauren.
After dinner the singer/songwriter; Francis Mallon entertained everyone with well-known singalong songs from the 40s to 70s putting a smile on everyone’s face. Love was truly 'all around' the home as captured in this precious moment between one of our loving couples shows. Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
