Activities at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events that cater to all tastes, which includes minibus outings to nearby places of interest and visits from animal trusts, local school choirs, musicians and entertainers. We also undertake one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group sessions, and encourage loved ones to join in whenever they can.

Alice Dingwall
Activities Coordinator
Hi, I'm Alice and I've been working in activities since 2019. I absolutely love my role, and I'm passionate about providing meaningful and life enriching activities for all our residents. My aim is to make them smile everyday!
It’s an absolute pleasure working here, being able to provide life enriching activities that make our residents happy and smile. We have so much fun together, and learn something new everyday from these incredible ladies and gentlemen.
Making links with local groups and organisations to ensure our residents remain part of the local community is a key part of the activities team role, if you would like to make contact with me or my colleague Sarah, please feel free to call us on 01865 730990 or drop us an email OxfordBeaumont.Activities@barchester.com
Celebrating life at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Disco Fever!
We had a fantastic turn out at our Christmas disco, and it was lovely to see residents, staff and loved ones dancing the night away!
Thank you to Topic Disco for keeping us entertained and playing all our favourite party songs!
To top off the party, we were visited by Father Christmas and his elves as they travelled through Bayworth!
Tuesday toddler group
Every month we welcome Martine, who runs a storytelling and music session in the home, bringing different generations together.
The group is open to anyone who wishes to join and is free of charge. Please contact the activities team if you would like more information.
Happy Diwali
The day was a joyous celebration, full of delicious food, music and dancing to mark the Hindu festival.
Many of the staff at Oxford Beaumont celebrate Diwali and wanted to share their culture and festivities with residents, families and staff.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, cooked and kept.
A beautiful morning sailing down the Thames with Rivertime Boat Trust
We received a warm welcome from the crew at Henley, who helped us on board and ensured our trip was comfortable and relaxing.
For the duration of the trip we admired the scenery, chatted and refilled with prosecco and some lunch!
It was a lovely morning and a big thank you to the team at Rivertime Boat Trust.
Annual Summer Fete
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for our 1950s and 60s themed summer fate! Despite the rain, we had a fantastic turn out! It was lovely to have been joined by so many families and loved ones.
The hospitality team put on a delicious BBQ, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! There was also a brilliant display of vintage mini cars, live music from Vintage Ruby, an ice-cream van visit, and thank you to Tina, who joined us throughout the day with her brilliant Oriflame stall, which also included fun games and a tombola!
And a big CONGRATULATIONS to Patrick for winning our raffle!

Christmas Fayre
Residents, loved ones, staff and friends from the community joined together for our annual Christmas fayre. There was a range of stalls to browse and buy from, and a range of amazing tombola and raffle prizes to be won!
We enjoyed live entertainment from singer, Jackie, who kept us entertained with a mix of sing-along favourites and Christmas songs!
It was a lovely day and great to see our home so full of joy!

Taking a trip down memory lane
Our deputy manager, Helen, and one of our residents were delighted to be invited back to Somerville College, where they both studied as undergraduates.
Escorted by our senior carer Peter, they were treated to a garden tour and afternoon tea! It brought back so many memories for them both.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
A huge THANK YOU to those that joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning here at Oxford Beaumont.
Many of the staff and visitors kindly baked cakes for the occasion, and together we raised an incredible amount of £126.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping them continue their amazing work for people living with cancer.
It was lovely to see our residents, families, friends and team members come together over cake, coffee and laughter ~ all for such a meaningful cause.
Day out to Beale Park
Residents, loved ones and staff had a great day out, exploring Beale Park in Berkshire! There was a wide range of animals to see from all over the world, as well as beautiful gardens and lots of picnic areas for us to stop and enjoy some refreshments, whilst taking in our surroundings.
To top off the day, we hopped on the miniature train for a tour around the park!
We hope to visit again in the near future!

Christmas Panto!
What better wat to kick off the festivities this Christmas than enjoying Tickled Pink’s Christmas Spectacular Show in the comfort of our own home?!
The show included all our favourite Christmas songs and dances, and even got the audience to sing and dance along…”Oh yes they did…!”
Thank you Tickled Pink Productions for the fantastic production and helping us get into the Christmas spirit!
World Ballet Day
Thank you to Amanda Alder’s Dance Academy for joining us for World Ballet Day! The dancers performed a mixture of ballet and lyrical in small groups, duets and solos.
The performance opened up many conversations and memories between residents, as they reminisced about their own dancing experiences and their passion for dance.
International Housekeeping Appreciation Week
Thank you to all the wonderful Housekeeping team at Oxford Beaumont for everything you do! Not only do you maintain the cleanliness and comfort of our home, but also for those moments where you go above and beyond to support residents.
This could be mending a piece of beloved clothing, helping at mealtimes or even spending time with residents for a chat or supporting them to engage in meaningful activities. We appreciate you!

International beer day!
To mark International Beer Day, residents celebrated in style at the Spread Eagle pub in Abingdon for a well-deserved refreshing beer!
It was a great start to the day, which was then followed by a pub-style session as part of Barchester's virtual Go Gaming programme!

A visit to Sunningwell Church to join with the local primary school for their 'pretend' Wedding!
Sunningwell School's reception class have been visiting us frequently throughout the year, and this last term they have been learning all about weddings and ceremonies.
To end their school term, they invited us to their own pretend wedding in their local Church!
It was a lovely afternoon and a great opportunity for everyone to get dressed up and reminisce about their own weddings or weddings they have attended!
We look forward to future collaborations with the school in the new academic year.
