Activities at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events that cater to all tastes, which includes minibus outings to nearby places of interest and visits from animal trusts, local school choirs, musicians and entertainers. We also undertake one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group sessions, and encourage loved ones to join in whenever they can.

Hi, I'm Alice (left) and I've been working in activities since 2019. I absolutely love my role, and I'm passionate about providing meaningful and life enriching activities for all our residents. My aim is to make them smile everyday!
Hi I’m Sarah (right), I’ve been a member if the Oxford Beaumont team since January 2020. Starting as an Activities assistant on a part time basis, I enjoyed the role so much I'm now one the the full time coordinators.
It’s an absolute pleasure working here, being able to provide life enriching activities that make our residents happy and smile. We have so much fun together, and learn something new everyday from these incredible ladies and gentlemen.

Life at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
A Wish Come True
At Oxford Beaumont we encourage residents to place wishes on our wishing tree; these could be outings that residents want, special experiences or VIP guests.
One recent wish came true for some residents with a trip to Shillingford Bridge Hotel for High Tea, we had a beautiful view of the riverside, the sun was shining and we had great company.
We enjoyed a wide selection of sandwiches, cakes and delicious scones to dine over with a pot of tea and conversations centred around memories of special meals in life.
The residents said it was a lovely afternoon especially as their wish had come true!
Get Barchester Moving Week
This week has been all about promoting fun ways to exercise for all our residents, staff and visitors as well as raising funds for our Barchester Charitable Foundation. We provided a wide range of activity throughout the week including an exercise bike, badminton, volleyball, football, arm weights, music and movement and more!
It was great to see so many getting involved and getting active! We also hosted a delicious BBQ for everyone in our community which was followed by a Mr. Whippy ice-cream van and the popular singer Tristan Pate, who entertained us throughout the afternoon with his wide range of sing-along tunes as well as taking requests!
Visiting Oxford
Here at Oxford Beaumont we are so fortunate to be just a short drive away from the historical unversity city that of course we had to take of advantage of this and take a trip in our mini bus to the beautiful Christchurch Gardens and Botanic Garden. Residents and staff enjoyed taking in the scenery whilst eating ice-creams! Some of the residents had connections to the university and gardens and reminisced about past visits there and expressed how wonderful it was to be back!
D-Day Remembrance, 80th Anniversary
Residents took a morning trip out to one of our sister homes in Wallingford to share D-Day celebrations. They enjoyed chatting and reminiscing with each other whilst enjoying the historical display of military trucks in the car park.
In the afternoon the celebrations continued as were entertained by the brilliant pianist, Tim Valentine. Tim played an array of tunes, ranging from war time favourites to songs from the 50s and 60s!
National celebrations and family-friendly events are just some of the ways that we ensure the residents at Oxford Beaumont remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community.
Music and Movement with Julia
Residents had a fun-filled morning with Julia who engaged with residents through a range of songs, dance moves, musical instruments and props!
The session brought back many musical memories for the residents and it was lovely to see so many sing and dance along with Julia.
Birthday Celebrations!
This week we celebrated our lovely volunteer Judith’s birthday!
Judith has been visiting Oxford Beaumont for two years now and is a big part of the team! Judith spends time visiting residents in their rooms chatting and reminiscing with them as well as hosting a weekly French class which is very popular amongst residents.
