Activities at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events that cater to all tastes, which includes minibus outings to nearby places of interest and visits from animal trusts, local school choirs, musicians and entertainers. We also undertake one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group sessions, and encourage loved ones to join in whenever they can.

Life at Oxford Beaumont Care Community

Honouring Remembrance Sunday
On remembrance Sunday residents wrote some wonderful poems to recollection and reminiscence the fallen soldiers of WW1 and WW2 and discuss what the day means to us all in honouring them
One resident called Annette told us she helped out in the navy in her younger days as a wren and carried cargo to the massive navy ship by paddling a little boat of the shores and how exciting it felt to know she was helping out her duties. It’s wonderful to listen to pastime memories the residents share with the staff.

Remember Remember the 5th of November!
On a cold afternoon in the homes garden residents enjoyed creating some sparkling fun! We displayed a wonderful performance of light in the air and watched them spiralling around. Afterwards the residents enjoyed delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows in the activity room plus a quiz to test their knowledge! We reminisced our times with the families watching firework displays and in lots of different locations even aboard as one resident told us about, it’s great to listen to so many stories and places of travel that we can share together.

Fun at the Fair
Whilst the funfair was in town residents, staff and families had a fantastic trip out into Abingdon for the Uk’s longest street fair!
It was great fun absorbing the lively atmosphere and admiring the variety of stalls and rides. Many of the residents even won some prizes on hook a duck and the darts stall!

A Mexican Fiesta
To celebrate Mexican Independence Day we decided to have our very own Mexican themed celebration here at the Oxford Beaumont!
We embraced the Mexican culture by enjoying fancy dress, making our own tacos, dancing and singing along to live music from Tristan Pate and of course, there was even a piñata!

Art Club
Residents took part in a fun and interactive art session hosted by Wendy and Gio-Gio.
Wendy and Gio-Gio presented some of their own paintings and inspired many of the residents to have a go at creating their own! It was a great afternoon and we look forward to the next one!

Summer BBQ
We had a fantastic turn out for our annual summer BBQ. The afternoon was filled with love, delicious BBQ food cooked by our catering team and our ears were blessed by the wonderful Jackie Mayard! And to top off the day we danced the afternoon (and food!) away to music with topicdisco!
