Activities at Pentland View Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Pentland View Care Home
American Independence Day Picnic
Residents enjoyed an al fresco picnic in celebration of American Independence Day. Lunch consisted of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chips, coleslaw and crisps. For afters, we had ice cream and American apple pies. Residents enjoyed the change in meal choice very much and also the decorated gazebo. The festivities were topped off with sparklers.
Inside Wall's icecream
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
Dogs Trust
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.
Summer fun activities in the sunshine
We have been having great fun in the sun as the weather has been so lovely lately! This has led to trips out in the mini bus for ice cream and reminiscence by the sea as well as a lovely picnic in the garden for National Beer Day.
Halkirk Vintage Cars and Museum
A group of gentlemen were very excited to go and visit the Halkirk Heritage centre and see the vintage cars. One of the gentlemen had even gone to school in the building and knew the attendants and another wanted to buy a car!
RNLI Lifeboat Faire at Scrabster
We took Don and Kathleen to visit the RNLI Lifeboat Faire at Scrabster Harbour as Don has been especially nostalgic for his old fishing boat and being around boats and the sea. Both enjoyed very much and it was lovely being out in the community.
