Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Frankie Sidwick
Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home
A Celebration of 30 Years of Care
An awesome achievement by Barchester Healthcare this month reaching an incredible milestone of 30 years of care. We came together as a home and recognised this moment with our residents and families.
Festive Themed Garden Centre
Our residents enjoy a trip out in the mini-bus every week to a variety of locations as they request. Garden centres are a popular choice and this week we took a group out to the local Kings Garden Centre. It was a very enjoyable trip out and very much reminded us what time of the year it is with the abundance of Christmas displays and decorations.
New Resident Launches Club to Share Joy of Poetry
A resident who recently moved into local Exmouth care home, Raleigh Manor has started a Poetry Club to share his long term passion, poetry.
Bill has been writing poetry for a very long time so when he came to live at Raleigh Manor the idea to share this passion with the other residents was welcomed by all.
Great Morning Out at the Garden Centre
A group of our residents really enjoy going to the local garden centre, Green Fingers.
On Wednesday by popular request, we made the trip to Green Fingers Garden Centre. The weather was good and so too the cafe, Arc. This is a great garden centre with a vast range of plants and all imaginable garden related equipment and gifts.
One of our residents managed to get some shopping in!
Prizes Awarded to Local School Children for Grandparents Day Competition
Three children at local primary, Brixington Primary Academy had a welcome surprise at assembly recently. Representatives from local care home Raleigh Manor attended to award prizes to the three winners of the Grandparents Day card colouring competition.
The competition was launched at the beginning of the month when school engaged with Raleigh Manor to colour Happy Grandparents Day cards for the residents. The winners were selected from 55 entries. Both staff and residents at the home participated in the judging process, selecting three winners.
Flowers to brighten our day
An introduction to flower arranging went down very well today with some great talent discovered amongst our residents. A big thank you to Alex from Lucerne House, who brought his own skills to the table.
