Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Frankie Sidwick

Activities Lead

Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

International Museum Day

On International Museum Day, Peter Cowper from Exmouth Museum brought the Museum to us.

The theme was interesting items from the 1950s which sparked some in-depth conversations and exclamations of "oh yes!" amongst our residents. Of particular interest were the old coin collections and the police mans whistle.

Sunday Picnic by the Sea

Sunday was such a stunning day, we packed a scrumptious picnic lunch and took off to the sea. Gill was determined to dip her toes in the water and she did! A very special day enjoyed by everyone. Bring on summer!

VE Day Memory Tree

Another special day over the weekend was VE Day. We ran a special activity to commemorate this time by putting together a memory tree. We all remembered those we have lost and remember fondly by placing a heart on the tree in their memory. The stories we shared while creating these was priceless. Mayor, Steve Gazzard kindly officiated for turning on the lights of the tree once we had placed all our memories.

Kings Coronation Celebrated in Style

A big thank you to all the family and friends who joined us to celebrate the coronation with a "garden" party. Despite the weather, we had a warm and wonderful time enjoying the company of our visitors and the feast, fit for a King, right here at Raleigh Manor. Thank you also to our Mayor of Exmouth, Diane Love and our Town Cryer, Roger for joining in our celebrations.

IKEA Was Calling

Another outing for our residents, this time to IKEA for some serious retail therapy. They all had a wonderful time and managed their way through the IKEA maze better than most.

Tripping Out to Greendale

As the weather improves we are making the most of the Raleigh Manor mini van to get out and about. This week one of our trips was to the Greendale Farm Shop. A great spot to eat, drink and enjoy the animals.
