Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Toddler Group at Ritson Lodge

We hold a Toddler group at Ritson Lodge twice every month, its proving to be a very popular group.Wonderful interactions between our elderly and children.

Research has shown that children who regularly spend time with the elderly enjoy a positive impact in language development. The group engaged in conversations with our residents, read stories and sang nursery rhymes. this provides opportunities for young children to improve their listening skills and expand their vocabularies with new words. This interaction can decrease older people's loneliness, delay mental decline, lower blood pressure and even reduce the risk of diseases.

Next Toddler Group is on 21st November 2023.

All are welcome

Remembrance Sunday

Jean's visit to the Church

Jean has said she always used to go to church before coming to Ritson Lodge, so I asked Jean if she would like to go next Sunday to Hopton Church and she was thrilled! She really enjoyed going to church and talking to other people that attend. They even asked us to stay for tea and biscuits! We were made to feel so welcome, Jean is already looking forward to next time!

Making a Scarecrow

We were getting all ready for our Hopton Scarecrow Competition today. So lots of mess and laughter. I have a sneaky suspicion they are up to something as I was told to keep away!

Thank you to Beehive Farm Livery for donating us plenty of straw.
So many laughs this morning, such a fun day, we even noticed straw in our hair! We can’t wait for it to be finished.
