Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Celebrating our wonderful carers

For Carer's week, we wanted to make everyone feel very special and appreciated the fantastic work they do every day. Staff were treated to deliveries of chocolates and homemade cards. Our Head chef also put together a wonderful spread of party food for everyone to enjoy. Staff enjoyed an afternoon in the garden with live music from The two of us.

Pizza making fun

In homage to national pizza day. Staff and residents made, prepared and cooked their own pizza's it was lots of fun and the taste tests were pretty good too.

Live Floristry Masterclass with Bloominghaus

Residents were treated to a virtual flower arranging demonstration with a difference, it was wonderful that our residents were able to follow along and create their own floral displays using flowers from our own garden and the local Tesco’s Supermarket.  It was a really enjoyable afternoon, we’re so grateful to Michal and Michael from Blooming Haus for this experience.”

Singing sensation

Residents were treated to the dulcet tones of Betsy as she returned for some well needed live entertainment. The sun shone and she brightened up the home. Singing songs from the past. We looking forward to having her back.

International Nurses Day

Every day we thank our Nurses for the wonderful work they do for us and how they make Rothsay Grange brilliant. But on Nurses day, It was all about them. There was a presentation from our managing director Natasha Lazovic with chocolates and certificates for everyone, followed by afternoon tea complete with live music and lots of laughter. We even took to the local town with biscuits to give thanks to all those nurses working in our community that we couldn't be without.

Garden Entertainment is back

Oh how we have missed live music. It was a lovely treat to be joined with the group just the 2 of us recently as they performed for us in the garden. The sun shone and everyone was tapping their feet.
