Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Mary Rose Talk

On Thursday 16th February we welcomed Trevor Sapey from the Mary Rose to give as a talk all about the story of the Mary Rose and showed us some replica items that were found on the Mary Rose ship. All the residents that came along said they had found it interesting and they can remember when they brought the Mary Rose up from the sea.

Valentines Day Celebrations

Love was in the air on Valentines day at Rothsay Grange, we had a Romatic afternoon tea party with entertainment from the very talented Gary Roman as Elvis. The ground floor dining room was decorated to perfection and We invited Milford House to join us in the celebrations. The kitchen done us proud with delivering heart shaped cakes for all to enjoy and the teas and coffees were flowing. We had labels on the tables for those who wanted could write a message and attach to a balloon to send of into the skies. Elvis handed out single roses to all that came to the party including staff and visitors everyone was made up and all involved had a great time.

National Pizza Day

National Pizza Day

We Marked National pizza day with getting the residents busy with making their very own pizzas with a choice of toppings, we used the oven in the satilite kitchen so we could all smell the delicious pizzas cooking. While there were in the oven we all sat and enjoyed a hot cuppa and chatted about various pizzas and if anyone had been to Italy and sampled a proper Italian pizza. When the pizzas were cooked everyone delved into their pizza creations. Residents and staff were all surprised at how well they had turnt out and would like to do it again in the future.
