Activities at Seaview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Life at Seaview House Care Home
Play Date
After much planning (permissions, session plans and general arrangements), we have welcomed a group of 4 year olds to Seaview for a weekly play date with residents.
They visited for the first time recently for an hour and a half and will return every Thursday to play with their new friends at Seaview.
The first session went better than we would have expected and everyone had a brilliant time. We cannot wait for next one!
Journeying North
Our Activities Coordinator arranged for residents to visit the most northerly point of the UK (Dunnett Head). All residents thoroughly enjoyed the trip, which was finished off with afternoon tea at a local hotel.
Therapy Ponies
We were visited recently by the wonderful Therapy Ponies Scotland owned by Elaine and John Sangster of West Lothian. They’ve been visiting care homes in Caithness for the first time and they were a huge hit with residents, staff and visitors. They brought 2 mini Shetland Ponies and 3 Newfoundland dogs. All residents got time with the animals who had the most loving nature and were obviously well trained and cared for. A visit that was planned for an hour lasted well over 2 hours as the people of Seaview were enjoying the treat so much. We hope they can come back again soon!
Theatre Presto
Twice a year, a traveling theatre, known as ‘Theatre Presto’, visits Seaview House with a seasonal play. This summer, residents thoroughly enjoyed the event and very much look forward to their return this winter.
Seaview Nik Naks
The residents' committee asked for a shop at Seaview where they could purchase sweets, treats and toiletries. So, Activities Coordinator, Mandy Wilson, along with resident, Cath Anderson, now open the mobile shop three times a week for everyone. This is a great success and popular with residents, staff and visitors.
