Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Sherwood Court Care Home

Games afternoon

It may have been wet and windy outside but Residents here at Sherwood Court relaxed in the homes comfy lounges and enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of games and puzzles accompanied by a cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake!

Virtual tour of NESCAFE

We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience.

We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.

To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.

Colourful knits

Sherwood Court were delighted to receive a surprise gift from an anonymous donation, they have received hand knitted rummage crafts in a variety of different patterns and colourful wool.  We’d like to thank this person or group as it has brought comfort and delight to our residents.  Thank you for Sherwood Court.

Community links

Residents have shared their love around the community with cards and messages and were delighted to receive a response from St Clare's Catholic Primary School which brought smiles to everyone's faces.

Heavenly cookery demo

We had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Valentine’s-inspired virtual cookery demonstration.  Chef Alex created some delicious Valentine’s Day-inspired vegetarian desserts, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.

Sharing memories

Residents have enjoyed looking through old magazines and newspapers with a cup of tea relaxing to the morning radio, sharing stories and enjoying a good old natter.
