Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Sherwood Court Care Home
Soul Mates
Here at Sherwood Court, we have recently had a married couple come and reside with us, but they are on each floor. Today we have had Ronnie helping out with flower arranging, after we was kindly donated a huge display. Once we had finished making our bouquets it was time for Ronnie to go up and spend time with wife Marie with the beautiful creation he made for her.
is this not the cutest thing you have seen so far today?
True soul mates and we are so happy we can experience support both Marie & Ronnie.
Newspaper Morning
Here at Sherwood Court, staff and residents have had a lovely morning discussing recent events in the daily newspapers. Reading regularly helps to prolong memory and discussion, this has helped the residents engage with staff and have a well held conversation about what has been going in the paper , Peter expressed how things have changed over the years and cannot believe we have new papers in colour.
Well done team.
Mum's the word
Residents at Barchester Healthcare’s Sherwood Court care home, in Fulwood, Preston, celebrated Mother’s Day with visits and video calls from family members near and far. The home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting for the occasion.
Staff at Sherwood Court arranged individual gifts for each of our special ladies, we also had individual gifts made for each lady, made and delivered by Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior School (Preston).
After spending the day with their loved ones, our ladies was then treated to afternoon tea and a glass of fizz provided by Activities Coordinator Hayley. Head chef, Gary prepared a special menu of afternoon tea treats to mark the day,
Community Engagement
Here at Sherwood Court, we have been super lucky to have the staff from Spar Shop come to us and put on a coffee morning, Alison & Alex supplied all the essentials for a fantastic event - some very tasty treats indeed!
We are the first community engagement for the spar and this is something they are going to continue with and we are very much looking forward it. Alison & Alex really enjoyed their experience here, they said the residents are beautiful and lovely, and they really enjoyed meeting everyone.
Come you Blues
Here at Sherwood Court, domestic staff Joanne and Sid are sat looking through the Everton program from the weekends match. Sid is a huge Everton fan, and was a keen match goer when he could make it, he was made up looking through the program and telling Joanne of his days going on the games and collecting match programs. A little kind gesture of something so small always goes the furthest.
Coffee Morning & Pet therapy
Here this morning at Sherwood Court, residents have made it over to the weekly coffee morning the North Preston Evangelical Church. We are always warmly welcomed by the warm community and our residents thoroughly enjoy attending. Bill was completely amazed as it was his first time attending, he chatted away with the ladies, and enjoyed cuddles off the dogs that came along.
Attending coffee morning is always something to look forward too, outing in fresh air, community engagement and supplied by plenty of tea and coffee.
Thank you to the staff, for always ensuring that residents are good to go and enjoy their day!
