Activities at Snowdrop Place Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Gemma Moss
Having started my journey as a carer, I am now thrilled to be supporting the activities for our wonderful residents here at Snowdrop Place. I love working with them to ensure we provide a full person-centred planner of amazing and engaging things for everyone to enjoy and be a part of

Life at Snowdrop Place Care Home
A Stroll in the Sunshine
Residents took a stroll through Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in the sunshine. They ambled through, looking at plants and flowers, then relaxed by the pond. Having our minibus means we can get out to all these beautiful places.
National Vegetarian Week
To celebrate National Vegetarian Week, staff and residents were treated to an interactive virtual cookery demo, courtesy of chef, Alex Connell, from Vegetarian for Life.
Chef, Alex, whipped up some tasty, healthy vegetarian snacks in a live, interactive cookery demo. Much to residents’ delight, Head Chef, Josh, had prepared the same recipes so that residents could try all the dishes.
Residents sampled delicious, light and summery veggie dishes, including Borlotti bean and dill pate, Greek fritters with tzatziki and coronation 'chicken' pastries, all finished off with a sweet and simple but totally yummy banana bread.
VE Day
Residents at Snowdrop Place marked the anniversary of VE Day in style by throwing a 1940s afternoon tea party to remember. The home was decorated in red, white and blue and residents and staff dressed up in their 1940s-inspired glad rags and enjoyed an afternoon of reminiscing, music and laughter.
Head Chef, Josh, whipped up a delicious selection of freshly-baked cakes, sandwiches and pastries for the occasion, all washed down with a good old pot of tea.
Residents observed the national two-minute silence and listened again to Churchill’s iconic speech and an address from the Queen. They then went through items of a specially designed reminiscence box from the era kindly donated to us by SeaCity Museum and enjoyed discussing their memories.
The Grand Opening
On 26th April, The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Darshan Mann, accompanied by his wife, came to Snowdrop Place, to cut the ed ribbon and announce us officially open. It is a day we have all been looking forward to and we are so glad we are open and now able to welcome residents into their new home.
CQC Registration
We are pleased to announce that Snowdrop Place has officially been registered by the CQC. This means they deem us safe and ready to open our doors to new residents, and we couldn’t be more excited. Our team celebrated the fantastic news together in the sunshine!
We Are Fully Vaccinated
We are proud to say the staff team at Snowdrop Place are now all vaccinated and have all completed their training. We are excited to welcome our new residents and to support them safely in their new home.
