Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Michael Lythgoe

Activities Lead

I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition

I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.

I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Gingerbread House Making

We had a fun filled afternoon creating our festive Gingerbread houses and three of our lovely ladies have enjoyed building their houses and decorating them.

They have used a variety of nozzles to create icing lines for the roof panels and rosettes for around the windows and doors. They have used lots of yummy sweets and treats to add colour, flavouring and texture to make their houses interesting, attractive and above all unique.

Whilst decorating we had a sing-along to Christmas songs in our Christmas outfits listening to Carols.

Our ladies worked very hard on their creations and enjoyed a very welcome cup of tea to accompany some of the sweets and treats they sampled which they clearly enjoyed!.

,

Floral Art

This morning our lovely ladies have enjoyed a morning of Floral Art making beautiful flower arrangements that we have distributed throughout the home.

We have used a variety of stunning bouquets to decorate our vases, elegant and perfumed lillies, spray carnations and glorious chryanthemums in an assortment of vibrant colours to celebrate the exciting lead upto Christmas.

We have enjoyed listening to Christmas music whilst chatting merrily with our lovely ladies about all our planned activities, that we are all very much looking forward to over the next few days and weeks!.

It's definitely looking a lot like Christmas at the Beaumont Stamford Bridge.

Fun filled afternoon with Musical Moments

We enjoyed a festive visit from the lovely Jess at Musical Moments who performed a variety of well known and very popular Christmas songs to our residents and Memory Lane Community.

We have been singing and dancing with an array of Christmas props including tinsel and story board pictorials depicting the 12 Days of Christmas! We have each played a part in acting out this iconic Christmas Carol On the First Day of Christmas my True Love Sent to Me!

We have also enjoyed two beautifully sung duets very kindly performed by Bryan and Jean, who were fabulous and deserved a roaring applause for their very impressive performances which we have all been very moved by.

It has been a wonderful beginning to all our planned activities for this very exciting month in the lead up to Christmas. We have all wished Maggie and Jess a wonderfully Happy Christmas and we look forward to welcoming them back in January 2023.

Festivities in full swing!

Stamford Bridge Beaumont are getting in the spirit this week as we prepare for the festive period.

Residents got involved and helped to decorate the Christmas trees that are being beautifully decorated around the home over the next few days.

Alice and Margaret have done a wonderful job of not only assisting with the tree, but also spent time tastefully decorating the Circle lounge with colourful stockings, bells and a beautiful nativity scene.

We also have a very attractive musical snowman globe so It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Stamford Bridge Beaumont and we're all getting very excited about our planned activities and events happening throughout December!

Barchester 30 Year Anniversary

Residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful time being brilliantly entertained by the amazing Carla to celebrate Barchester's 30th Anniversary! They enjoyed her beautiful singing and dancing and she even sang a lovely duet with Bryan our lovely resident who also has an amazing voice.

Chef, Amy and her team made a wonderful cake for the home to enjoy. All residents have thoroughly enjoyed having tea and beautifully decorated cup cakes to celebrate this momentous occasion.
