Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Pancake Day at Stamford Bridge Beaumont
The first day of March was busy as we marked not only St David’s Day but also Pancake Day. Pancake Day or Shove Tuesday is the traditional feast day before the Lent on Ash Wednesday.
Our residents had a wonderful day, filled with pancake-inspired activities, they prepared homemade pancakes and decorated them with fresh fruit, berries, syrup and chocolate. It’s safe to say they went down a treat!
It was a fun day, enjoyed by all.
St David's Day preparations
In preparation for St David’s Day tomorrow, residents have been busy making Welsh Cakes.
They turned out very well and we’re sure our residents will enjoy eating them to celebrate!
100th Birthday celebrations for a special lady
We have had a fantastic day celebrating our resident Maggie reaching her centenarian Birthday.
Maggie enjoyed entertainment performed by dark moon, followed by a tea party with her close family.
Happy Birthday Maggie
St David's Day preparations in full swing!
St David’s Day is fast approaching so we spent an afternoon getting crafty making daffodils for our display.
Nescafe virtual experience
We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience. We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.
To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.
Residents enjoy trip to local coffee shop!
With bad weather forecast this week, we jumped at the chance to pop out on our minibus to the local coffee shop The Balloon Tree Farm Shop & Cafe for cakes and coffee.
It was a wonderful afternoon and we can't wait to visit again!
