Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Local community join together to celebrate a special Birthday
We would like to share a special thank you to all the local Schools and Nurseries for your kind efforts and your beautiful handmade cards for our resident, Jean to celebrate her special 102nd Birthday yesterday.
Here is a lovely photo from Pocklington Community Junior School showcasing all their lovely cards they made specially for the occasion.
It brightened Jean's day and was a very kind and thoughtful gesture.
Now we just need to decide where to place them all!
A visit from some furry friends!
Yesterday residents enjoyed a visit from some furry friends in the form of Tom and Jerry the Guinea Pigs and Gromit the Rabbit.
Animal therapy is very important to our residents and it was amazing to hear how many of our residents had these animals as pets during the years, this created the opportunity for some lovely moments of memory sharing.
Thank you to Rachel from Ryedale Animal Group for bringing them, we look forward to the next visit.
Birthday celebrations for a special lady!
Everyone at Stamford Bridge Beaumont would like to wish a special Happy 102nd birthday to Jean !
What a wonderful day Jean has had. A coffee morning with her friends in the Circle and live entertainment from George England this afternoon. Lots of lovely messages, gifts and flowers have been received from her family and friends.
We asked our local community to help us get 102 cards sent to Jean for her birthday and we are delighted to share that we received an incredible 255 cards!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to send a card or make a card for Jean. It made her day!
The day the farm came to visit
Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home, in Stamford Bridge, was full of animal mischief on Thursday when the farm came to visit the home. Residents at Stamford Bridge Beaumont were pleasantly surprised to see animals such as Guinea Pigs and Rabbits roaming around their Lounge as Ryedale Animals Group paid a visit.
General Manager Emma Smith said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today. We knew that having the farm here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”
World Book Day
Here at Stamford Bridge Beaumont our bookshelves were bulging as we celebrated World Book Day in style.
The day promotes reading for pleasure, so our residents decided to host a discussion about their favourite books and authors, and to join a storytelling session.
We tested our knowledge with a book quiz and got involved in a variety of themed activities such as exploring Beatrix Potter activity book from Oomph Wellness, making recycled bookmarks for the occasion and learning more about the story of World Book Day.
Some of our lovely colleagues even got dressed up for the occasion!
A trip to the local coffee shop
Residents enjoyed a walk A trip to the local coffee shop into the village for coffee and cake this morning at No. 10 Café Bar & Bistro.
Thank you for great service and delicious cake, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning again soon!
