Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Pancake Day
We had an extra helping of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday! As well as having pancakes at lunchtime, we made our own in the afternoon with a selection of delicious toppings. Lynette, our Activities Coordinator, had pancake tossing down to an art by the end of the afternoon!
Frothy Coffee
Our frothy coffee afternoon has become very popular and now happens every week. We all have a natter and sometimes a singalong with a latte, cappuccino or mocha. Families also join in if they are visiting.
Planting Time
Residents enjoyed getting their hands dirty by planting miniature daffodils and primroses in pots to brighten up the patio, which was followed by a lovely cup of tea and cake!
Singing Fingers
Residents love Friday mornings at the home with ‘Singing Fingers’, a group set up by Kate where babies and toddlers up to the age of 4 years old can enjoy music, singing and interaction through movement and play. Through term time, the group gets together at the home and the residents interact with the kinds, enjoying their company and joining in with the songs.
30 Years of Service
We celebrated Jackie Stonehouse’s 30 years’ service at Stamford Bridge with music and party food. Victoria presented Jackie with her vouchers, pin badge and flowers and thanked her for her continued support to all the staff and residents at the home, long may it continue!
Baby Lamb Visit
We are very lucky to be local to the countryside and we have connected with a local farm, who allowed us to have a 2 day old baby lamb visit. She went around the units and said hello to everyone who wanted to see her.
