Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Care Practitioner of the Year
Sarah Steer has been named as the 'Care Practitioner of the Year' at the Barchester Care Awards 2017.
The award recognises the hard work and commitment our Care Practitioners have made, and the judges were looking for someone who was able to demonstrate how their role has increased the quality of care for their residents or patients.
They were also looking for the winner to be able to show how they have integrated with the nursing team and how they have developed and supported junior members of the staff within the home or hospital – and Sarah certainly did that!
Remembrance Service
On 11th November at 11:00 a.m., we had a very moving remembrance service, hosted by Judith. We had a 2 minutes silence to remember our fallen heroes. Thank you to everyone who took part!
More Music for the Mind
Here at the Beaumont, we hold 'Music for the Mind' sessions every other Monday. Ruth Strangeway, who hosts the sessions, is very experienced with using music to help promote activity for people living with dementia. These sessions help people understand how music can be used for the benefit of those with the condition.
Music and Dance with Carla
We had a lovely music session with Carla recently. We really enjoyed singing along with her and dancing and generally having lots of fun. It is lovely to see how certain music helps to make residents happy and its lovely to see how many sing along and know the words.
Music for the Mind
Every other Monday we are holding 'Music for the Mind' sessions here at the Beaumont. They are for our residents with dementia and also anyone from the community and surrounding areas can come to our lovely home and share this experience. Our music lady, Ruth Strangeway, is running the sessions with our help, to promote music and activity to anyone with dementia and their carers to help them. Ruth’s sessions are really enjoyable and help to bring back memories through music.
Matt Makes a Comeback!
We had another fabulous music session with Matt Jones recently. He really has grown with confidence and residents love to sing along with him.
