Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
August Arts & Crafts
We try to host various different activities here at the Beaumont; last week, we bought some plant pots and residents enjoyed painting and decorating them. We also planted some flowers, which we have displayed on our terrace lounge for everyone to enjoy.
Weekly Exercise Class
Here at the Beaumont, we hold regular exercise classes. Our physiotherapist comes in twice a week to host an exercise class, in addition to one-to-one sesssions with residents.
Village Coffee Morning
We always try to support our local community; the local church was holding their local coffee morning, so we went along and enjoyed some refreshments. As we attend quite often, we chat with the locals, whom we have got to know quite well.
George England Visits Our Home
We had a lovely visit from local entertainer, George England. George is a really good singer and performs songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Residents enjoyed singing along and knew quite a lot of the songs. He also does tributes to Cliff Richards and Elvis Presley, as well as lots of other well-known artists.
Garden Party
We recently hosted a garden party and booked the White Star Band to come and play for us. Lots of residents joined us outside along with support from relatives and members of the community. We even had a visit from the ice cream van, which was a refreshing treat. The weather was really warm and sunny and it turned out to be a fabulous day. Thank you everyone who supported the event to those who helped to make it a great day.
Our Pets at Home Visit
We had a lovely visit from Pets at Home recently. The lovely Sarah, from our local store, visited and brought a baby snake and a guinea pig with her. Residents really enjoy these visits and love to cuddle with the animals. Thanks, Sarah, for taking time out to visit us.
