Activities at Station Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Carly Chesney
Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

St. James' Park Visit
Some of our gentlemen in the home had expressed wanting to return to the home of the magpies recently, and so the team at Station Court got to work to make this happen and were invited to St James park memory café.
Our NUFC fans were over the moon to not only see the stadium in its glory but to meet toon legend Bob Moncur, captain of the team in the late 60s! who gave a great talk of his career with the club bringing back many great and funny memories, and also came to meet and give his autograph to our gents!
A truly special day for all of us.

Hoppy Easter from us all at Station Court!
Everyone has had a ‘cracking’ time over Easter weekend at Station Court.
Residents had a great time in the local community hiding bunnies in shop windows for children to find in our bunny scavenger hunt on the lead up.
We then kicked off our weekend celebrations singing and dancing to live entertainment from the fabulous Musical memories and had fun making Easter cheesecake and chocolate sponge. We had an eggcelent delivery with everyone receiving an Easter egg from our Station bunny and invited local children for a Easter creations workshop. We ended celebrations on a high with families and visitors joining us at our Easter fun day with egg hunts, Easter games and lots of chocolate! And had a wonderful church service from Holy Sepulchre church and receiving palm crosses for those that wished.

Home host Easter bunny hunt
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Station Court Care Home have been having fantastic fun hiding Easter bunnies all over the place in Ashington for local children to find.
The staff and residents decided to challenge local children to find 12 Easter bunnies that are hiding in local shop windows in the town. The children need to write down the number of each bunny and where they have been found in order to take part in the Easter Bunny Hunt between 1st and 9th of April.
General Manager, Sarah Kelly, said: ‘’Residents have had so much fun visiting local shops to hide the bunnies and we are all looking forward to the children visiting with their completed forms and receiving their prizes and choosing one lucky winner for a eggstra special prize!’’
