Activities at Station Court Care Home
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Station Court Care Home
Dancing Queens at Mind Active
We had a fabulous afternoon out at Mind Active's community tea dance. Reuniting with old friends and making new ones as we sang along and danced the day away to live entertainment from the brilliant Jessica Irving. Enjoying pie & peas lunch, quiz and winning prizes on the raffle too!
Family and Friends Christmas Lunch
Making memories is what Christmas all about. With a delicious 3 course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, live entertainment from Johnny having us all singing and on our feet dancing, Christmas quiz, prizes and a merry good time! Thank you to all our family and friends joining us!
Wansbeck Christmas Campaign
A huge thankyou to all our staff, family and friends who played Santa this year and donated toys to our home for the Wansbeck Christmas Campaign, aiming for all children in the Wansbeck area to receive a Christmas present on Christmas morning. We are overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity.
Creative Christmas Workshops
From wreath making to woodwork, card making to sewing gifts we have been keeping busy throughout the festive period creating treasured items for friends, family and giving our home decorations that special homemade touch.
Virtual trip to the Donkey Sanctuary
Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester. Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care. They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide. The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
Lest We Forget
Our gents were proud to join so many others in the community coming together to mark respect for our fallen at Ashington’s Remembrance day march and parade.
In house we wore our poppies with pride as we came together to remember and reflect with poems, wreath making and a remembrance dance with the brilliant musical memories performing singing wartime classics we love to sing and dance along to.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
