Activities at Sutton Valence Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Vera Lynn Tribute Tea Party

Sutton Valence Care Home in Maidstone held a Dame Vera Lynn tribute tea party with vintage crockery, homemade cakes and scones, finger sandwiches served on cake stands and individual platters for the residents to enjoy. The residents enjoyed a singalong to the hits of Dame Vera Lynn and had a fantastic time.

General Manager Robert Dura May said: “In these unprecedented times, providing a range of engaging activities for our residents is more important than ever. Residents really enjoyed the choice of teas, cakes and singing on the day and as a nation who truly loves their tea and cakes, it was great excuse for an event

Ruth resident at Sutton Valence Care Home said Dame Vera Lynn was an incredible lady & icon and it was lovely to celebrate with the staff who are taking such good care of us.”

A cake fit for a Queen

What a lovely way to celebrate the Queens Birthday.  Sutton Valence organised a Cake competition. We asked our residents to come up with a designs that the chef could make for our Queens Birthday celebrations on 13 June 2020.  Pictured here is the creation made by Chefs with Ruth M design.  It looked and tasted fabulous.
