Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home
Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.
Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!
Kelly Sherwin
I started at Tandridge Heights in 2020. Previous to this, I have been working as a carer sine 2010, which has helped me to understand the needs, wants and the individuality of all of our residents.
My main responsibility is provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents; this helps to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We love to have parties to celebrate birthdays, national days and special occasions.

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home
Pancake Day
Tandridge Heights celebrated Pancake Day by making and serving our residents some yummy pancakes. They had a choice of toppings, including maple syrup, honey, Nutella and fruit, but the favourite by far was lemon and sugar. Some residents even had a go at flipping their pancakes. This was a fun day that brought back happy memories for our residents.
True Talent
Our resident ambassador, Pauline Davies, has been selected to write a regular column in a local parish magazine. She has started off by writing about life at Tandridge Heights and her transition from living independently to living in a care home.
Pauline has said: "The carers have a demanding role to play and most work from 8am through to 8pm; it is a challenging job and not one which I could have taken on. I am encouraged to stay as active as possible by taking exercise, doing puzzles, memory games and listening to music. We all have our own room with toilet and washing facilities and access to TV.
The Vaccine Arrives
We are delighted that over 50% of our staff have begun their vaccination process and many more are planned. The whole team here at Tandridge Heights understand their responsibility and that taking the vaccine will provide our route back to celebrating life with our residents and patients in a way we all look forward to doing.
Food for Fun
Residents at Tandridge Heights enjoyed an afternoon of in-house food tasting that took place at the home, sampling from a selection of foods from France.
Residents were able to try the different flavours and learn the different stories behind the dishes. Our residents and guests had a wonderful day learning everything they could about French food.
Century Celebrations
Celebrations have been in full swing at Tandridge Heights, as resident, Evelyn, celebrated her 100th birthday.
Evelyn was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the Queen in recognition of her landmark birthday on the 9th January 2021.
A champagne reception was held at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s Head Chef Moses Chanakira.
Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 11th December, the staff and residents at Tandridge Heights all wore their Christmas jumpers to raise money for Save the Children.
We played games, had a quiz and enjoyed some very tasty treats. This event really cheered people up and got us all in the festive spirit.
