Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Trinity Cafe

Recently we saw the launch of our very first Trinity Cafe, where members of our community joined us for the morning, spending time chatting, enjoying a cuppa and some delicious cake, made by our lovely Chef, Louise, as well as being entertained by the wonderful Jan Millward from Rural Rhymes and Reminiscing .

Jan brought with her a table full of memorabilia from yesteryear, many of the items were well remembered by those in attendance and stories were exchanged and memories shared. She brought many items linked with the festive season too!

Festive Dogs Competition

We recently asked our facebook followers to submit some pictures of their pooches all dressed up for the festive season and they did not disappoint.  We then printed them all off and have displayed them for all to enjoy over the Christmas period.  Our residents have really enjoyed looking at these pictures and have spent much time giggling over some!  We have uploaded a few of their favourites here for you to enjoy!

Some Special Visitors!

Residents at our home were recently treated to some very special visitors, who came to spread some festive cheer to us all here at Trinity Manor...

Members from the Wessex Beavers, Cubs and Explorers, as well as Ilchester Rainbows and Brownies, joined us to sing some beautiful carols and Christmas songs especially for our residents, who were of course delighted to welcome them all in a covid safe way!

After the singing, the each received some yummy hot chocolate to warm them all up and also some delicious homemade shortbread!

Thank you one and all for making our residents' day!

Local Food Bank Drop Off!

What a wonderful day! Some of the Sherborne Girls from the boarding house next door came over to help us load up some of the food donations collected by Trinity Manor at last week's Christmas Fayre, watched on by some of our residents...

Thanking the girls for their help, we were then on our way with some of our lovely ladies and a couple if strange looking elves, to do our delivery to the Sherborne Food Bank , where the lovely Antony was awaiting our arrival!

Posing for a few photos, we then officially handed over the essential items, which will go to some of the area's families who desperately need some help.

Thank you all to those who donated, it was such a great feeling to know that we have collectively helped so many!

Santa...We Know Him!

Santa was here at Trinity Manor recently, causing much laughter for all!

He deemed that we had all, 'been good boys and girls!' then switched on the lights of our ground floor Christmas tree, before wandering about the home to meet all our residents.

(It was secretly Paul, our Deputy Manager in disguise...but Shhhhh!  Don't tell anyone!)

All the Fun of the Fayre!

What a fun evening was had by all at our Christmas Fayre, but such a shame the weather was a little hit and miss...not to mention VERY cold!  But still our wonderful stallholders came out in force and provided us with a wonderful shopping base for a bit of Christmas shopping.

Thanks go to the wonderful Salvation Army Band, who provided us with some lovely Christmas music, setting the perfect atmosphere, as well as to the Girls School next door, who sang some beautiful carols for us also.

A truly magical start to the festive season!
