Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Community Love Champion 2022!

After a recent Facebook initiative to find someone in our community who has put others first during the recent pandemic, resident Sheila selected our winner from all the names in the hat. Our winner, Helen Whitemore, was the named as our Community Love Champion 2022, and we celebrated with her lovely family as they collected Helen's prizes & certificate on her behalf...

Nominated by her daughter Lisa, Helen has constantly, and without complaint, stayed strong in looking after her own father and helping out with childcare whilst Lisa worked, but if that wasn't enough, she was also suffering with her own ongoing health issues.  That is a truly amazing lady and a VERY worthy winner!

Lisa, popped along to see us on Helen's behalf, bringing with her, her gorgeous children, Darcie & Ebony, who were very excited to be able to take these wonderful baked goodies to their Nanny, to help her get better from her recent operation.

Paul, our Deputy Manager, was on hand to do a formal photo with our winner's family and after a quick pose or two, they were on their way to present Helen with her prizes.

Girls, you have done your Nanny proud! Try not to eat too many yummy cakes before Nanny gets them...

So Much Love!

For Valentine's Day here at Trinity Manor we are celebrated LOVE in all of its forms...

From true love, to love for our families, to the love of friendships, to the love of good food, love of the company of an animal or the love of some fun activities, etc...

Residents enjoyed some delicious food served on some beautifully decorated tables, then later on some extra special goodies adorned the afternoon tea trolley!

During the afternoon, they played several rounds of Valentine's Candy Bingo, which went down a storm, with several winners, then sharing their prizes of some delicious Lindor chocolates.

The afternoon ended with a cheeky tipple of choice (but mainly sherry!), toasting their nearest and dearest for those they hold close.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S FROM EVERYONE HERE AT TRINITY MANOR!

LIVE Valentine's Virtual Baking Demo!

Following on from our recent baking session up on Memory Lane, later in the week our residents  got to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of someone else's labour!

They joined a virtual event live link for a baking demonstration up in our home's lovely cinema, where Alex, from Vegetarian For Life, showed them how to whip up some delicious cakes and puddings in time for Valentine's day.

Barchester's Lucy Tomlinson was on hand to field questions to Alex from some of the residents in the Barchester homes, so it was brilliantly interactive for everyone!

The best bit was they got to sample some of the delicious food created, as unbeknown to them, our very own in house Chef, Lukasz, had made up some of the recipes in advance for our residents to sample!

Thank you Lukasz, it was all delicious!

Baking With Friends

What a fun morning recently, as some of our wonderful residents up on our Memory Lane community joined in with a spot of baking...

The egg cracking and cake mixing commenced in style, as everyone took a turn to do their bit.

The residents chose to colour their cakes very brightly as they opted for pink and green.

The ladies afterwards enjoyed a well earned cuppa and a chat as they waited for the cakes to come out of the oven.

Post bake when coming to the ground floor to cut the cake for this afternoon's tea trolley, an eagled eyed member of staff had a giggle as Activities Assistant, Joe, and the lovely Eileen, both camouflaged against the cake! Spot the difference!

These cakes brings a whole new meaning to the phrase , 'Eat yer greens!'

Exercise AND Cake?!

It's not every establishment that would let you getaway with eating cake or a quick forty winks whilst in the middle of an exercise class, but here at Trinity Manor, anything goes!

With Activities Assistant, Joe, at the helm leading a lovely group of ladies through some deep breathing exercises and Yoga, residents soon became so relaxed, some did indeed nod off!

Interrupted only by the tea trolley, with some delicious home baked chocolate chip cake, our wonderful group felt very relaxed in the aftermath of the class.

Definitely our kind of exercise...

Great Job ladies!

Wear Red Day

Valentine's has started early this year at Trinity Manor, as staff wore red for the day recently, as they showed some love for The Children's Heart Surgery Fund.

Wear Red Day aims to raise awareness and funds for 'local heart warriors and their families', as they struggle to deal with a wide variety of congenital heart issues.

The money raised goes towards something small, such as a teddy to comfort a small child after heart surgery or even towards essential pieces of equipment, such as ECHO machines.

Members of our team have themselves had to deal with heart conditions, as well as some of their children, so this is a cause that is definitely close to their hearts!
