Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Being a motivator and influencer to the people around me has always been my passion, and also part of my profession. As an Activity Coordinator, my ultimate goal is to transfer my energy and spread my happiness.

Life at Trinity Manor Care Home
Disney Dress-Up Day
Trinity Manor had a visit from Alice in Wonderland and Mickey Mouse. We had a Disney character dress-up day; our staff and residents thoroughly enjoyed it!
National Biscuit Day
Trinity Manor has decided to bake some brownies for the Third Generation Brownies as a thank you for sending amazing letters and pictures to our residents during lockdown, and in recognition of National Biscuit Day.
We have also baked some rainbow biscuits for Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne to say thank you to all front line workers.
The Deputy Manager and Administrator have been busy delivering celebratory brownies and biscuits to the local community as well.
The Great Trinity Bake-Off
We organised the Great Trinity Manor Bake-Off in order to support Alzheimer’s Society.
There was three judges tasting the amazing cupcake creations; two of them were residents.
There were 6 contestants entering the bake-off to compete in the categories: display, use of special ingredients, flavour of the cupcake, flavour of icing and presentation
The top 3 bakers have received prizes!
Pirate Inspired Week and Birthday!
We celebrated our Deputy Manager's birthday and dressed up as pirates!
Not only did we dress up, but this week had been themed with films, quizzes, local history and exercises about pirates which our residents thoroughly enjoyed.
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!
Happy Birthday!
Now, more than ever, it’s extremely important to surround our residents with care and attention on their birthdays, so we did! All our staff were going above and beyond to make Madge’s birthday extra special! One of our housekeeping staff is a qualified hairdresser so we arranged to have our birthday girl’s hair done in the morning, her favourite fish and chip lunch and the afternoon celebration with her favourite cake and music.
VE Day Celebrations
Staff and residents at Trinity Manor Care Home along with people all over the UK, joined together for the ‘Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2’.
In light of the current situation, rather than celebrating with street parties, at 3 pm on May 8th, the country was encouraged to mark the day with a nationwide toast - “To those who gave so much, we thank you”. Paying tribute to the many millions at home and abroad, that sacrificed so much to ensure we all enjoy and share the freedom we have today.
Residents also celebrated the occasion by wearing fancy dress, listening to iconic singer Vera Lynn, having singalongs, dancing, bunting making and tucked into a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, tea and a selection of cakes, a special menu for VE day lunch.
Sue Monger, general manager at Trinity Manor Care Home, said: “Many of our residents have very clear memories of the Second World War, and reminisced about their experiences, so it’s a privilege to remember and celebrate with them.
"We had a lovely day, and we are making sure extra effort is focused on creating an enjoyable environment for all of our residents, whilst ensuring that the group activities are smaller, adhering to social distancing advice.”
Dr Valerie Marett, a resident ambassador at Trinity Manor Care Home, said: “It is very important that we keep the memories alive of those who fought, and the staff have gone above and beyond to create a special celebration today.”
