Activities at Tyspane Care Home

Residents at Tyspane enjoyed taking part in a dog grooming session. 5 Maltese terriers, Aggro, Tilley, Buttons, Evie & Gracie all visit the home regularly as part of the pat dog activities programme.

They are a much loved visitors to the home. They were brought in for a pooch pampering session with their owner Babs Spear who is also the Physio assistant at Tyspane.

The residents loved brushing and petting them they are a much loved visitors to the home.

Tyspane Care Centre, in Braunton celebrated the 25th Wedding Anniversary of resident Mary and her husband Graham. 

Mary & Graham were joined at Tyspane by family and friends for an afternoon of music and celebration, the couple received a bouquet and a celebration cake.

General Manager, Sara Maynard, said “On behalf of myself all the residents and staff at Tyspane may we offer you our congratulations on reaching 25 years of marriage”.

The creative juices were flowing during our  flower arranging session, flair & imagination were in abundance, as our ladies enjoyed creating their beautiful flower baskets!

Maura Johns celebrated her 25th year at at Barchester recently. Here's to another 25!

Terry Bond joined us to host one of his magical musical sessions, and everyone had a great time!

Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Tyspane Care Centre to enjoy a summer fete that was held at the home in July 2019.

Tyspane hosted a variety of activities throughout the day, the fete was opened by Barnstaple Town Majorettes and entertainment continued thoroughout the afternoon with Nadine Morrish’s Dancing Feet Accademy and musical entertainment from Dog Leg a local singing duo which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

Staff at Tyspane made everyone feel welcome and were delighted to see different generations having fun together. Visitors enjoyed plenty of refreshments, such as cold drinks and cream teas prepared by the catering team, who were hard at work making sure that a great time was had by all – it really was a team effort!

Resident, John Spear, said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was surrounded by lots of great people, and the refreshments kept flowing. The weather held out until we finished. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together.”

Sara, General Manager at the home, said: “Staff at Tyspane are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off. It was a resounding success!”
