Activities at The Warren Care Home
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.
Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home
Happisburgh Owls
On the afternoon of 14th June, Happisburgh Owls visited The Warren - much to the delight of the residents. Everyone was able to hold all of the owls if they wished and most of them did. The owl that attracted the most attention was the Bengal Eagle Owl - everyone held him! The other great attraction was the Black Barn Owl; these are extremely rare and will not be found in the wild, as there is only 1 in every 100,000 born and they will only survive if they are hatched in captivity as the parent bird will kill them straight away. We will have the owls return again in October.
Bawdeswell Garden Centre
On the 22nd June we took some residents to Bawdeswell Garden Centre for an afternoon cup of tea and cake which they were very pleased about. They are looking forward to the next visit.
George's Ushakov Medal
The late George Adams - a former resident - has been awarded the Ushakov Medal for his service with the Arctic Convoy ships during World War Two. Everyone who works and lives at The Warren is extremely proud of him, and his daughter accepted the medal on his behalf.

Queen’s 90th Birthday Party at The Warren
On Friday 10th June 2016, here at The Warren, we celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a party lasting from 4pm until 7.30pm. Everyone had a wonderful time with a great sing-a long and entertainment coming from Giovanni. We had an assortment of sandwiches, nibbles, cakes in the shape of hats, trifles and cupcakes, not to mention an amazing fruit cake that was made, iced and decorated by our Head of Activities, Joy.
The evening finished with a raffle of prizes ranging from a bottle of fizz to bubble bath.
Elvis Evening
Another enjoyable evening was had by us all at The Warren on Friday 20th May, when we were visited by our regular entertainer, Elvis, with his rock & roll performance.
Kelling & Sheringham Trip
One of our trips this year was to Kelling Tearooms, which was followed by a stop off at Sheringham for tea and cake.
