Activities at White Lodge Care Home

White Lodge has a specialist Memory Lane Community for those living with dementia. Our activities team have been trained to ensure the activities are fulfilling and varied. This weekend residents enjoyed art, dominos and puzzles. The colouring is therapeutic, it is something we all should try with so many benefits including reducing stress, improving sleep and motor skills.

Residents were so pleased to receive their 2nd Covid vaccination. The vaccination is such an important part of returning to the new normal. We are all so grateful for this vaccination programme.  Staff and residents are delighted to be fully vaccinated.  

We spent a relaxing Easter Monday painting Easter Eggs. Our creative residents enjoyed expressing their artistic side, by decorating these 3D wooden eggs. They were very pleased with their hard work.  White Lodge looks wonderful this Easter, we have Hugged the Home in Bunting with all the fantastic bunting pictures from local schools along with the residents' decorations, we plan to keep the decorations up for a few weeks so we can continue to enjoy them.  

There was a special delivery for one of our residents from their daughter - Sunflower seeds to plant.  We went out to the greenhouse, carefully prepared the trays and now all the seeds have been sown. We hope to have some beautiful yellow and red sunflowers if they all germinate successfully.

There is nothing more fun and relaxing than working with nature and growing beautiful flowers. We'll keep you updated on progress!

Happy Easter from all the residents and staff at White Lodge.  It has been a very enjoyable Easter with a visit from the Easter Bunny for all the residents, followed by a traditional roast lamb lunch and afternoon film.  We would like to thank again the people of Lyneham and Bradenstoke who through St. Michael's and St. Mary's churches donated Easter Eggs for our residents to enjoy.  

At White Lodge this weekend, we made the most of the lovely sunny weather and our residents enjoyed as much time outdoors as they could get!  We enjoyed nature walks, cups of tea outside and on the hottest day of the year, they ventured out onto the patio deck by our Cafe lounge and soaked up the glorious sunshine.  We are glad we took full advantage as snow is forecast next week!
