Activities at Winchester House Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Life at Winchester House Care Home
Mocktail Evening
We decided to do something different for an Activity, We came up with a Mock tail Evening. We had all different kinds of juice and some of our Residents indulged in a little tipple of Pina Colada and also Passion fruit Martini. They had a lovely time mixing up different Mocktails.
St. Patrick's Day
Today we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in recognition of the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland.
The home was decorated with shamrocks and we all enjoyed exploring the Irish culture through a variety of themed activities.
Our talented chef prepared a fantastic spread of traditional Irish dishes for all to enjoy, all washed down with Guinness and Irish whiskey.
Our residents here at Winchester House had a fabulous day.
Mothers Day Celebrations
We had a fantastic mother’s day here at Winchester house. We had lots of families in to visit their mum, grandmothers and aunts. They had photos taken by staff and printed off so they could take them home. They also enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea, prepared by our amazing chef!
Celebrating Valentine's Day
Our home was filled with flowers, cards, balloons and decorations as we celebrated the day of love in style with sweet treats and gifts. We marked the day by staging a themed photoshoot and sending the lovely photos to families and friends and having a conversation about romantic moments in people’s lives.
Our residents had the opportunity to taste delicious themed sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our talented chef, whilst listening to all-time favourite love songs. It was a lovely day and it was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved with the day’s festivities.
Flower Arranging at Winchester House
Here at Winchester House our Residents like to be very creative, so we did some flower arranging to brighten up our home for other Residents and staff members. It's so lovely having fresh flowers around our home, not to mention the amazing smells.
A fabulous shopping trip
Did you know that our home has a minibus for taking Residents on trips and outings and for outbound activities. We have just recently visited Hempstead Valley shopping centre.
Some of our ladies here at Winchester House like to do their own shopping so that’s what we did, The ladies love to buy beauty products so we visited the shop Boots, and we also had a browse around Marks and spencer’s before having a sophisticated lunch at Marks and Spencer’s, before heading home myself and a Residents thought we would have some fun trying on hats.
