Activities at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Activities make up the most important part of all our days at Woodhorn park, so we ensure a variety of social events are available that reflect the interests of all the people we support. In our Memory Lane community, we have group conversations and regularly reminiscence about past experiences, which is something that people living with dementia really enjoy. Many residents love gardening, baking, outings, pet care and gentle exercise, which we provide, along with many other wholesome activities, as it is essential that life at Woodhorn Park is fun and active.

Life at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Elf Day

Elf Day

Care Assistant, Naomi, dressed up for Elf day to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, and enjoyed decorating one of the many Christmas trees that adorn Woodhorn Park. Resident, Peggy, loved assisting, as she decorated her family tree for years.

Christmas Party

Christmas Party

On 6th December, several residents attended a Christmas party organised by community group Mind Active. A lovely afternoon was had by all. Thelma loves dancing and danced the afternoon away whilst Peggy dressed up in items from her Christmas cracker. Thank you, Mind Active, for a lovely afternoon.

Community & Friendship

Community & Friendship

Here at Woodhorn Park, we strive to be a smaller community living as part of the larger community within Ashington. Delorus and Ellen were strangers prior to moving into Woodhorn Park and, looking at their beautiful smiles, all we can see is friendship and companionship. They are absolutely stunning ladies!

Caroling with the Salvation Army

Woodhorn Park residents and staff would like to thank the Salvation Army for visiting us and joining in with our carol service and nativity. It is a blessing for the team to be a part of a magical time of the year, sharing memories, hope and blessings with everyone.

Remembrance Afternoon

Many residents attended a remembrance afternoon that was organised by the local community group Mind Active. A lovely afternoon was had by all who reminisced and shared memories of yesteryear. A beautiful handmade wreath became a focal point within Woodhorn Park during the afternoon.

Children in Need

Residents and staff put on their pyjamas and had a day of fun and games to raise money in support of Children in Need. Housekeeper, Cheryl, and resident, Diane, thought the cakes were lovely. £90 was raised from raffle tickets and games. Well done to everyone involved!
