Activities at Woodhorn Park Care Home
Activities make up the most important part of all our days at Woodhorn park, so we ensure a variety of social events are available that reflect the interests of all the people we support. In our Memory Lane community, we have group conversations and regularly reminiscence about past experiences, which is something that people living with dementia really enjoy. Many residents love gardening, baking, outings, pet care and gentle exercise, which we provide, along with many other wholesome activities, as it is essential that life at Woodhorn Park is fun and active.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Doll Therapy
Pictures speak a thousand words; residents really enjoy the comforts that doll therapy can bring.
World Chocolate Day
We celebrated World Chocolate Day on 7th July. All residents enjoyed tasting several varieties of chocolate, including white, dark, milk, Swiss, German and much more. The chocolate fountain was a huge success, and residents loved dipping in strawberries and marshmallows.
Fair Day
We had a selection of hot food, bric-a-brac, raffle and cake stalls. Anita, one of our Care Assistants, brought her two Pugs along and we raised a grand total of £275. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the team, relatives and residents for their support.
Long Service Awards
Congratulations to Care Assistant, Bill Young, and Senior Care Assistant, Emma Davison, for receiving their 10 year Long Service Awards recently.
Armed Forces Day
The team of Woodhorn Park recognised the outstanding contribution of soldiers to the country on Armed Forces Day by presenting medals to retired soldiers, newly titled the Woodhorn Heroes, who now live with us at our home. Medals were presented to Jack Dodds, Sadie Saunders, Bill Davison, John Scott and Raymie Mitchell.
World Cup Fever
Residents and staff wanted to show their support for the England team at this years World Cup. As you can see from the pictures, some staff even traded their make-up in return for face paint! We had a projector screen set up for the game so that everyone could enjoy the match live!
