Activities at Woodland View Care Home
Activities at Woodland View
Woodland View is passionately committed to providing residents with a varied choice of entertainment, social, health and well being, craft and relaxation based activities.
Activities will all be meaningful and based on the likes of residents and will continue to evolve depending on our residents. The activities provided will also include involvement from other local community based organisations and are open to all residents, family and friends of residents. Our activities will be facilitated by staff from all departments as well as invited guests. Families are also enthusiastically encouraged to play a part in activities when possible.
There will always be at least one person at every activity who has been DBS checked to ensure the safeguarding of our residents. The dignity of our residents and our respect for them is at the centre of everything we do, each and every day.
We are always reviewing and changing our schedule of activities to be a centre of excellence and actively invite feedback and suggestions for new and meaningful activities and ideas.
Petra Hardman
Hi my name is Petra and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Woodland View. I love seeing the difference that activities can make to each individual, and finding out what interests they have and ensure I incorporate that into our activities here.
I love music and drama coming from a musical background as a singer all over the country, music is important to me and I feel it makes such a difference to everyone, it evokes memories, and creates happiness. I also love to boost residents self esteem by creating pampering sessions and having one to one time to relax and reminisce.

Life at Woodland View Care Home
Visit from a Furry Friend
Residents were lucky enough to meet one of our lovely entertainers puppy! Cuddles were had by all and the lovely pup had the privilege of also going round all of the bedrooms to meet those that are less mobile.
Showing Their Appreciation
Sadly, a resident recently passed away here at Woodland View, but the family was so happy with the care we provided that they wanted to give the care staff and nurses a little something as a thank you for all there kindness. The pleasure was all ours.
Memorial Day
We hosted a Memorial Day on 21st November. This day marks a time for residents and loved ones to remember those who are no longer with us.
Forever in our hearts – never forgotten!
Band Practice
Woodland View residents were involved in The University of The Third Age Instrumental Band's rehearsal. One resident was playing the ukulele and he was so happy to take part in this event. We are looking forward for the U3A Instrumental Band's Concert in December.
Children in Need
On Friday 15th November, staff and residents dress up in their pyjamas for Children in Need. Donations were made by many visitors to the home and we raised £58. Well done, everyone!
Remembrance Day
Woodland View residents, relatives and staff members were very busy knitting and crocheting more than one hundred poppies, which were used as part of our Remembrance Day display to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
We are very proud to share the result of our communal hard work. Resident, John, was a Poppy Appeal Collector for the Royal British Legion from 1972 until 1995, when he retired, and was sent a Certificate of Appreciation.
