Activities at Adlington Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Lynne Bowler
I joined the activities team at Adlington Manor in May 2017. Previously, I have worked as a tree surgeon and have had heavy involvement with the Guides and Brownies. I love participating in activities with residents, whether that's by driving the minibus on trips outside the home, or by engaging in themed days.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in our activities here.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Adlington Manor Care Home
We are one of the first care homes to receive a new dementia care accreditation!
Adlington Manor has achieved accreditation for a new standard of dementia care after taking part in a 10 month pilot trialling a new programme developed by dementia care specialists at Barchester Healthcare.
The 10-60-6 dementia programme will replace Barchester's current dementia care programme in order to ensure that the care services provided by our Memory Lane communities for people living with dementia are the best in the sector.
A certificate and trophy were presented to us at a celebratory lunch on 15th August. The presentations were opened by Martin Green who is the Chief Executive of Care England, the largest representative body for independent social care services in the UK.
Virtual Trip to the Seaside
We had a pretend day at the seaside here at Adlington Manor; true to form, the weather let us down, but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time.
15 Years of Service

Adlington Manor's Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Mike Nicholls, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the Chef of the Year category at this year's Barchester Care Awards.
Employees of the Month - June
Two members of staff were named Employee of the Month for June: Dawn Hilditch and Kelly Anne Livingstone. Dawn has recently received her Care Practictioner Award and Kelly has completed her NVQ Level 3.
Congratulations to both and many thanks for all the hard work and dedication.
