Activities at Adlington Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Lynne Bowler

Activities Coordinator

I joined the activities team at Adlington Manor in May 2017. Previously, I have worked as a tree surgeon and have had heavy involvement with the Guides and Brownies. I love participating in activities with residents, whether that's by driving the minibus on trips outside the home, or by engaging in themed days.

I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in our activities here.

Games with Macclesfield Football Team

Games with Macclesfield Football Team

The Macclesfield Football Team's Youth Squad has been in the home again strengthening our hand-eye coordination with some fabulous and interactive games. We also have a new company - PULSE - starting as of next week doing armchair exercises to raise our fitness levels! Phew!

Celebrating the Queen's Official Birthday

Celebrating the Queen's Official Birthday

Adlington enjoyed the Queen’s birthday celebration in style with a film and camera crew to capture the day! Our Chef, Mike Nichols, was being judged on his menu for the Barchester Chef Awards and to support him we rolled out the red carpet, with a double-decker bus, horse and trap, outdoor fish and chip lunch, the Queen's favourite foods throughout the day and Queen's karaoke during the afternoon. It was a fabulous day enjoyed by residents, families and staff alike!

Preparing for the Queen's Official Birthday

In the build-up to the Queen’s official birthday celebrations, residents got involved in flower arranging and craft work. Here we see Chaz helping to make a tunnel inspired by the London Underground. We really enjoyed getting ready for our London day out-themed celebrations.

The Wincle Fête

The Wincle Fête

Two of Adlington Manor's new overseas nurses helped out at the local Wincle Fête recently - their efforts were very much appreciated.

A Walk Amongst the Horses

A Walk Amongst the Horses

We took advantage of the great weather by having a walk through our beautiful grounds. The horses were in the paddock and very pleased to see us!
