Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Life at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Beatrix potter museum

Beatrix potter museum

We visited the Beatrix Potter Museum with some residents recently. Tucked away in the old back streets near Gloucester Cathedral it brought back a lot of memories for our residents. The museum provides unique gifts and collectibles in a quaint, old world shop with a small museum upstairs. The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed visiting the shop and some bought gifts home with them. It was a great day out had by all.

Church service

Church service

Every other Wednesday we are lucky enough to have our local church ‘Badgeworth Praise’ come to visit.  Their favorite hymns are heard all the way down corridors as our residents sing to their hearts content. At the end of the service a Holy Communion is offered to everyone especially those prefer to stay in their rooms during the Church service. We enjoy building bonds with our local community at Badgeworth court.

Introducing the new manager to our activities

Introducing the new manager to our activities

Our residents love fresh fruit, so we decided to make our own fruit skewers with melted chocolate outside in the courtyard. Each resident had the choice of strawberries, mango, pineapple and kiwis to slide onto their skewers, they could then drizzle them in milk, white and dark chocolate.  It wasn't long before the fruit and chocolate were gone, with help from our new general manager Xin. It was a nice way to welcome her to Badgeworth Court even if she did get covered in melted chocolate!

Summer BBQ

Summer BBQ

The beautiful weather has provided us with the perfect excuse for a summer BBQ. Burgers, sausages, salad and desserts were served to residents and their family and friends, whilst Sheila and Steve sang hit pop and jazz classics for everyone to enjoy The evening was a great success and was enjoyed by residents, family and staff.

Introducing our very special resident ambassador Robin

Robin is very much looking forward to his new role as resident ambassador. He has spent the last two weeks researching local points of interest for our minibus outings, including research on wheelchair access and disabled parking. Robin is an architect and has had a lot of input in local architecture of which we are looking forward to visiting on our outings. Robin has been a vegetarian for over 30 years and used to run his own vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Cheltenham, he is looking forward to assisting the chef in creating a varied menu as well as voicing the opinions of his fellow residents in their monthly meetings.
