Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Life at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Residents at Badgeworth enjoyed a fantastic day of pampering from Lisa Tilley. We converted one of our grand lounges into a spa for the day, with a picturesque room divider, a therapy bed and soft flickering candles. There was relaxing music and a beautiful selection of aromatherapy oils, which were a real treat for residents.

Old Time Singer

Old Time Singer

Residents at Badgeworth enjoyed a wonderful concert by the beautiful singer, Beccie Marshall. The ‘old time singer' sang all of the residents' favourite songs and had the whole crowd singing along. We are looking forward to Beccie's return, as music therapy is always a hit at the home.

Wildlife Presentation

Wildlife Presentation

Residents love all things nature, especially the birds that are regular visitors on the grounds here at Badgeworth Court.

We were joined by Simon Watts, who shoots his own nature videos and presents them to residents, teaching us about all the animals. Residents and family members really enjoyed the show and were keen to ask questions.

How We Used to Live

How We Used to Live

This session was hosted to commemorate the anniversary of the end of World War 1, so we spoke about how we used to live from 1914 to 1918.

The idea behind this session was to engage residents and encourage them to share memorabilia and personal memories. The visual or tactile value of the objects in front of the residents often bring comfort or evoke a reflection.

Topics covered in the session included the Suffragettes, WW1, life in the 1910s, shopping and fashion, social activities and royalty. Libby appeared in front of the residents in a Suffragettes costume with a sign saying 'Votes for Women', and she spoke about the marches and the struggles of women back in the early 1900s.

Libby had photographs of men enlisting and old advertisements on large boards for the residents to look at. She also brought in old copper kettles and a coal shovel for the residents to handle, much to their amusement. They particularly liked the miniature gramophone and the old smoking and cigarette tins.

Everyone is looking forward to Libby coming back again to teach us about a different era.
