Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.
Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Delicious Treats
We have started making biscuit and cake creations at Beeston View. Each week has a different theme; our latest theme was garden animals, so we decorated biscuits to look like lady birds and bumble bees. It is a chance for residents to show their creativity, and they loved getting covered in icing sugar whilst decorating. The finished results weren’t half bad.
A Very Kind Donation
We have received a wonderful donation from Handmade for Dementia North West and UK. The group is run by Sharon Holdstock Wallace; she and a lovely group of ladies knit and make fiddle mitts and blankets for people living with dementia to use and enjoy.
The donation they gave to us was their biggest so far, which means that most residents received their very own. Sharon came with us to hand out the creations so she could see for herself the positive affect they will have on those we support - and it was lovely to see their reactions!
Sharon and her team also provided us with 2 fiddle boards, which have switches, plugs, bells, bolts and padlocks attached. These are targeted specifically towards male residents, and they have been a huge success!
We are extremely grateful for their donation and will continue to donate supplies, such as wool, buttons, ribbon, old switches, bolts and much more to them so they can carry on with their amazing work and help as many people as possible.
Musical Moments
Musical Moments came for their regular visit in May. Jess brought along umbrellas and hats for residents to put on and there was plenty of singing and dancing. The visit is always enjoyed by everyone.
The Countess Nature Trail
We took a trip to the Countess Nature Trail recently and brought with us a picnic to enjoy whilst soaking up the spring sunshine. We chatted to lots of people with dogs and spotted numerous breeds, including Afghan Hounds, Greyhounds, Newfoundlands, Cockapoos, Labradoodles and Shitzus; we even saw a tiny dog in a dog pram that was 17 years old and no longer able to walk. We enjoyed sandwiches (which we shared with some of the dogs), cakes and lots of hot tea. It was a warm day, yet very windy, so we took shelter in the minibus and enjoyed a drive through the Cheshire countryside before returning to Beeston View in time for tea.
Cake Creation
We have recently started holding Cake Creation sessions here at Beeston View.
Residents are helping to decorate cakes, which we are turning into various creations. This week, we iced cupcakes and created a design of flowers in a plant pot. The finished result was really impressive and residents enjoyed being involved in the entire process.
Easter at Beeston
Residents from Beeston View were busy in the lead up to Easter; they made cards for their families and for display in the home.
